Public opinion and Interest in Wikileaks


Wikileaks has been supported with large groups, general public, celebrities and many human rights agencies all over the world for revealing the secret information about Governments about their condemned in violence activities and negative side of picture which all the times kept hidden from public.
Reactions to the Wikileaks current released documents including videos, privacy files and tracks have ranged far and wide across the spectrum and been voiced with much favor. Meanwhile, the over-attention to some of the less important details revealed and the intrigues surrounding Julian Assange, has been criticized by media watchdog groups due to publishing such important Government Data. But for Julian these things doesn’t matter he is like a hero moving toward destination with torch in his hand who has not to care what the US Government or any intelligence agency will treat with him .

Whether Wikileaks helped the Public and civil groups

The question here arises is whether Wikileaks detailed sent information on its site and how much it will help the innocent nation under regime of Black wolf, just how valuable is the information revealed for leading members of civil society – public interest lawyers, human rights investigators, foreign policy analysts and critics? And has Wiki-leaks helped or hindered their cause?

Michael Ratner, a veteran civil rights lawyer and the president of the Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR) when asked for Wikileaks said “This is dynamite”, He further added “I have never seen such a great things from decades, since the Vietnam war era.”

Ratner a civil rights lawyer said: “The US is claiming judiciary independence, but the cables revealed that the statements for judicial independence were completely hypocritical, as they actively tried to externally influence the process through political means.”

In an online poll in the Jersey Journal for Wikileaks corresponding , a US newspaper website, 60 per cent of respondents thought Mr Assange should be prosecuted for espionage, but a poll for the New York Daily News found that 70 per cent of people thought WikiLeaks was right and working for human rights.

Assange told Time magazine this week: “I think the response by the American public has been very favorable to our Endeavour.”

A good proportion of users of the magazine’s website seem to agree with their policies revealing the Governments secrets which could harm their citizens, with Julian Assange running third in its informal voting for Person of the Year, a little behind pop star Lady Gaga and a long way behind the Turkish prime minister, Tayyip Erdogan, who appears to be benefiting from a campaign of online voting.

Paul Levinson, professor of communications at Fordham University in New York, said US public opinion had split along political lines with right people supporting the Julian and Wikileaks but those from Government agencies feel it threat for them.
